Driven so the water stays still.
Chauffeured cars from Plympton, a few minutes from the airport. Transfers, weddings and days out, each one planned the evening before.
In our cars the water leans a little on the bends and settles. Brake hard and it reaches the rim.
Three bends of the Hills road, the way our driver plans them.
A handful of cars, each kept by the one who drives it.
Sedan. Three of you, three large cases.
People mover. Six of you, six cases.
In the door, still water, cold. In the armrest, a charger for most phones. Behind the seat, a rug in winter and an umbrella. On the seat, nothing at all. No badges on the cars. Each is cleaned the evening before by the driver who keeps it, and it’s the car they bring to you.
Nothing in the car smells of anything.
Choose a trip, then fill the glass. The fuller it is, the gentler we plan the drive.
Airport to a Hills village: about nineteen minutes, planned so a full glass stays full.
Routes and times are illustrative, drawn for this page to show how we plan.
Planned before the car leaves.
Past the airport, up the long climb, slower where it winds, on to the village.
What we do before you’re through the doors.
When you land, the car is waiting.
Your flight. We follow it from take-off and move the pick-up with it, early or late, so you needn’t message anyone.
The doors slide open and there’s no one to look for.
Where we’ll wait. Inside arrivals by your baggage belt, holding a small card with your surname, or at the kerb if you’d rather walk straight out. Tell us which when you book.
Just your name, held up where you’ll see it first.
Your bags. A sedan takes three large cases and a people mover six. Golf bags fit; tell us about anything longer.
The cases go in, the boot closes, and it’s quiet.
If you’re held up. We plan for a long queue or a slow bag, so there’s no hurry. Your driver’s name comes the evening before.
Cold water in the door pocket, and the car already cool.
The Hills, the coast, the Flinders.
The Hills villages. We plan for pick-up at nine and home before dark, and stop wherever you ask.
The Fleurieu coast. The long way down and the quick way home. Book lunch yourself, or ask us to.
The Flinders. Two or three days, with your driver staying nearby.
The window seat, the whole way down.
For weddings, we start from the moment the doors open.
We work the timings back from the ceremony, with you or your planner, and plan to be there well before the doors open, parked out of the photographs.
A second car can be held if the day runs long. Water and umbrellas are in every car, and white ribbon if you’d like it. The back door opens wide for a long dress.
The car is already there, and the door is open.
The evening before
We check your flight, then the road: roadworks, events, the long-weekend traffic. We drive the route in our heads, time the pick-up backwards from when you need to be there, and message you the driver’s name and where they’ll wait. An hour out. The car is cleaned, the water goes in, and we leave early. At the kerb. The driver is out of the car and at the back door before you reach it.
If
the flight is late
We follow the flight and move the pick-up with it.
you’re running late
Tell us and we plan around it. For a wedding, we let the venue know.
plans change on the day
Say so, and we change the route.
you need a second car
Ask when you book, or on the day if one is free.
you leave something in the car
Each car is checked that evening. Tell us, and we’ll arrange to get it back to you.
Tell us the trip.
The first thing you see as the doors slide open.
